Position Title

Application Developer

Position Description

The Application Developer will work with business analysts, systems architects and subject matter experts to design, develop, test, and deploy application software.


  • Under minimal supervision, estimate, design, code or configure, test, debug, document, deploy, and maintain applications and platforms while adhering to specific development best practices and quality standards.

  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, ensuring the applications support both architectural design and business objectives.

  • Participate in process leadership for work groups, and product/service delivery strategy and work plans.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve application problems.

  • Use systems and quality tools to maintain data and database integrity and security.

  • Support all phases of systems development life cycle, from analysis through post-Implementation review programming activities.

  • Coach and mentor team members as appropriate.

  • Other responsibilities as may be required.


Basic Qualification:

  • Education - Associate's Degree or related technical certification

  • Experience - 2 years’ experience in a related field developing and supporting applications, and or system development lifecycle including coding, testing, and implementation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years of full stack software development experience using object oriented, web services, and ETL to support back-end integration including EDI

  • Experience with application development and integration using object-oriented languages (e.g. .NET or Java)

  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g. Informatica PowerCenter or Microsoft SSIS)

  • Experience with SQL programming / designing relation databases, stored procedures, database functions, design tables, select statements, views, etc. (e.g. Oracle 12g / SQL Server 2008R2)

  • Experience with EDI X12 processing

  • Experience working with a variety of protocols for file transfer and delivery

  • Experience with working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies

  • Excellent analytical skills ability to interpret technical requirements and to troubleshoot and resolve systems problems

  • Effective communications skills and ability to work in teams.
